1 week

Clarina has been with us for over a week now and she is settling in really well.  In the morning we get lots of happy greetings, it's great she is glad to see us.  She continues to be a great dog.  She is housebroken and crate trained.  She loves to go for walks and gets really excited when she sees her leash come off the rack.  We learned she HATES thunderstorms and becomes very stressed.  We put her on leash during the storm and kept her by us to prevent her from pacing and becoming increasingly more stressed and that seemed to help.  She loves to play with our puppy and I think they have become great friends.  Two days ago we finally taught her to sit on command, we are so proud of her.  next we are working on "down."  She is getting better about coming when called.  She got out our front door yesterday and she took off.  Luckily I saw her and was able to go after her, she didn't get very far and I was pleasantly surprised that she came to me running when I called her.

Here are some resent pictures of her cuddling on the couch.

Doing well

Clarina is doing so well.  She is a lot less stressed and seems to really be enjoying our home.  She wags her tail and wiggles her whole but when she sees us now.  She loves to cuddle on the couch and will nudge your hand if you stop petting her.  She wants to be right by us all the time.  I have taken her on some walks and she does pretty well on leash.  Yesterday we went to our local dog park and found out right away she needs to stay on leash due to the fact that she wants to scale the fence and chase birds.  She seemed fine with being on leash and my daughter ran her around in a circle until she got tired (my daughter that is not clarina.)  My 7 month old puppy Bear loves her and wants to play all the time.  Clarina likes to play and is really tolerant of his constant bitting and jumping.  Sometimes I fear the play has gotten too ruff when Clarina really gets into it so I tend to break it up and give them a break.  Over all she has been such a great dog.  You can't beat sweet, potty trained, crate trained, good with kids and other animals and doesn't even attempt to destroy something in you home.  Really she is the perfect dog.

I was able to tear this bone apart in record time.

She looks a little guilty in this picture.

She loves the camera.

Day 1 with Clarina

Clarina is very stressed.  She is definitely missing her former foster mom, pup and other fur friends. We are trying to help her to be as comfortable as possible.  She is playing more and more with our pup Bear.  He is getting a run for his money.  Just when I think it's all getting too ruff he is running back for more.  Clarina is such a sweet girl.  Here are some more pics. of play time today at our house.

It's playtime.

Clarina has arrived!

We are so happy to have Clarina with us.  She is such a sweet girl.  She seems a little nervous so hopefully she will settle down soon.  I'm sure she is missing her pup Alvin (who is the sweetest little guy.) Maybe she will take on our 7 month old pup as her own, or at least he will help her to settle in. As promised here are some pics.

She is so sweet with our kids.

Welcome Clarina!

We are so excited that Carina is arriving this evening at 6 p.m.  The kids can't wait and I know our 7 month old puppy is going to be so happy to see her.  This is our first foster placement through IBR.  We hope Carina does well while she is in our home and also that she finds the perfect adoptive home for her.  Stay tuned for pictures.
